I'm always on youtube checking out new artists, bands, videos on just about anything and I stumbled upon this artist! Wow was I impressed! I know there's a select few out there that do this sorta thing but man is this guy talented!
Justin King musician and artist from Eugene, Oregon playing "Knock On Wood" and it's something special to hear something original verse the same old!
recognized as a pioneering for his percussive "tapping" style play which consists of a variety music ranging from Flamenco to Celtic music. age 19, and in 1999 he released his self-titled album In 2001 after traveling through Europe, Ireland and Great Britain. King recorded "Le Bleu"--an instrumental acoustic guitar record featuring long-time friends and James West on percussion,Troy Sicotte on bass and Linh Renken on violins.
Le Bleu was recorded at Peter Gabriel's "Real World Studios" just outside of Bath, England a mile stone for any artist to record with such a legend!
The band recorded the "Justin King and the Apologies" record at Justin's Blackberry Hill studio. The album also took them to studios in Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco. The recording process took more than a year After a large shakeup at Epic Records in which the president and the band's A&R representative left the company the band stayed on in limbo with epic.
After being in Limbo the band asked to be released by the label. Epic gave the master recording rights to the band and the album was released to do as they wish. The band then independently marketed their music touring tirelessly throughout the year the band broke up around the end of 2007.
King has pursued an interest in photojournalism, having spent August 2008 in Iraq. Shadowing with Oregon National Guard at Balad Air Base He accompanied the US military on patrols and raids as well as medevac missions and convoys.
Kinds photos appeared on the BBC's website and his stories were featured in Oregon's mainstream news publications. King is currently finishing a degree in oil painting and photography at Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon. I wish the world had more people Like king! Not only is king talented but he's interested in making the world a better place and for that I feel honored to hear his music and felt it was important to share his music and story with the world!
