Hey you mad bastards at TNES... I love this band! I could have a really bad day and a simple letter from some mentally ill insane band from Australia just seems to brighten up my mood! Ok They are not 100% nut's but they write about people crapping their pants and drinking chocolate milk so they must be a little loose in the head. I think the zen of this band is everyone is too tense nowadays. I think the band wants everyone to chill out, have mad sex, blast the radio and slam down something good to drink! Isn't that nice of them to care so much and the crazy part is they do! That's why they wish for you to strip naked and run wild at their next show because if your having fun, their having fun!
See Le Murd really cares about your mental well being! Well, below is the letter I get from them! So classic why would I deface it by editing it! So without further or due from the twisted mind of Le Murd. A letter send to the neverendingstage directed at us! Since us, is you we published it for the great world to enjoy!
Friday 27/4 dawned cold , grey and wet but it didn't dampen the spirits of the loyal Murdheads and punk motherfuckers who rocked out with us and the mighty SuckerPunch at the trusty Palace Hotel....Flangipanis were booked to appear but pulled out at short notice, so us and SP had to extend our sets to cover the gap....nobody was disappointed by the time we were done.
SP singer Brutal Planett lived up to her name and did the business with the band's old school punk grooves played at maximum volume for an extended set of 45 min....love this band and whoever hasn't seen 'em you are missin' a top show....Jim is a bass god with possibly the best stance in the world, Allan is awesome on guitar/backups and Brett hammers out the classic punk "forced" beat to drive it along... ( I'm not sure it's the right Palace hotel LoL! ) I figure I would rile up the band a little!
Le Murd went on next, all suitably lubricated, with Stav Scata wearing his India Test Cricket vest and headband for the occasion....We opened with Pompous Old mates and any of the old regulars still hangin around were well and truly gone by the time we kicked straight into Highway Slasher...the very wired Leethal Sheiser stepped up next to deliver his psychopathic drug anthem (It's) Comedown(To This) and the Murdheads were screamin' for more....so straight into the repulsive majesty of Touchin' Cloth delivered most offensively by Scata backed up with a searing rendition of Vomit To Live and then Leethal doin' the Walkin' Dead.....then Le Murd continued on in Murd-tack-ular fashion through the relentless barrage until a forced short interval at song 17 as Scata had broken a string...the back up guitar had no strap so Brutal Plannett offered her schoolgirl tie to use which didn't quite work forcing Scata to go all folky and sit down for the next couple of tunes...
Diehard Murd fan Dee Kay invaded stage right and commandeered a mic to deliver an impromptu version of the DK's Holiday in Cambodia with Leethal on bass accompaniment which was both chaotic and random ....4 new songs were aired for the first time and these were Stav Scata's homage to erectile dysfunction, This has Never Happened To Me Before, Merde's sludgy emo pisstake Tragic Happens, Scata's scathing attack on Aussie cricket captain Michael Clarke called Pup Sucks, and the gay cricketer's epic Battin' For The Other Team(Caught Behind Again) complete with a blatant lift of the time honoured Channel 9 test cricket coverage theme song....law suit anyone? ( I also don't know if that's the real band SuckerPunch they mentioned! ) I used google images and typed in the band name. A bunch of hot chicks came up so damn Le Murd if you are playing with hot woman like this send me a plane ticket!
After well over an hour the sonic onslaught was ended with the 1-2 rock/power punch of Bluebags into Oxygen Thieves , Scata having screamed himself voiceless and Leethal and Merde blowing like 2 dollar whores with Merde in particularly vicious vocal form throughout the 23 song set...Ben Bogswell had again laid a superbly economical power punk foundation for the massive Murd wall of sound and was looking forward to his customary dozen Red Bulls to recover his faculties...
We can't wait to re-enter the breach with sticks and guitars blazing on June 29 at the Palace....
cheers
